Pelorus was founded by professional home and commercial inspectors Roland LeClaire and Adam Goldner in July 2020. Goldner and LeClaire bring to the industry well rounded educations spanning several decades and including experience in home building/remodeling and project management. Together they have completed more than 10,000 inspections. Their passion for inspecting led to the creation of a dedicated team of knowledgeable individuals now known as Pelorus Inspections and Environmental Resources.

Roland is a founding Partner and an Inspector with Pelorus Inspection & Environmental Resource Group. Roland has been providing residential and commercial inspections in the Atlanta-Metro area for more than 15 years and has conducted as many as 10,000 inspections. His experience and success is built on the belief that each property is unique and, whether within or outside the Atlanta-Metro area, Roland welcomes the opportunity to assist his clients in better understanding the property they are purchasing.
Roland's goal is to empower property buyers by sharing his knowledge and expertise in buildings, systems, and construction /environmental science. In addition to being a Certified Member of the American Society of Home Inspectors, Roland has extensive experience as a designer, custom home builder and renovator. He is also certified through Pro Lab as a mold inspector and is qualified to provide a range of environmental testing, including radon gas, lead, and asbestos.
Prior to co-founding Pelorus, Roland was integral in the growth, development and sale of another well-known, local inspection firm. His successful marketing and relationship development efforts, as well as his ability to recruit, train and mentor over a dozen new inspectors, contributed substantially to the firm’s growth during his 15-year tenure. In addition to his passion for training new inspectors for success in the industry, Roland also has a strong foundation in technology and automation. For his previous firm, he was the first to identify the need for online/website based scheduling, setting a new standard for the inspection industry in the region. In combination with his breadth of expertise and experience, Roland’s light hearted and non-alarmist approach provides clients with both a deep sense of comfort as well as the knowledge necessary to make well-informed decisions.
Originally from the Big Sky Country of Montana, Roland enjoys backpacking, fly fishing and the search for great local cuisine. However, when given the option, he will always choose a campfire with good friends and family.
Adam is a founding Partner and an Inspector with Pelorus Inspection and Environmental Resource Group. Adam has spent years cultivating his knowledge of building sciences since transitioning from over a decade in Organizational Development and Corporate Senior Management. In his previous role, Adam specialized in developing and delivering technical training where he went on to ultimately lead the technical training function. With this experience underpinning his building knowledge, Adam has a unique talent for delivering complex concepts in a clear and easily understandable way.
Out of a desire for a change in lifestyle and experience, Adam left the corporate world to pursue his interest in carpentry. With this decision, he spent two years working in a custom cabinetry and furniture building workshop. Adam followed this experience by completing a Carpentry apprenticeship and becoming a Journeyman Carpenter. To obtain his Journeyman Carpenter status, he completed over 6000 hands-on hours in construction and related systems as well as more than 400 hours of classroom instruction culminating in testing and certification. Adam spent the next several years in high-end residential construction with an emphasis on remodeling and custom carpentry.
Recognizing a need to incorporate clear, effective communications into Property Inspections, Adam saw an opportunity to blend the culmination of his experiences with a passion for the building sciences. While he believes that all properties carry some level of imperfection, the art of effectively evaluating a property lies in understanding those imperfections and recommending appropriate courses of action. Adam approaches this work with a positive, informative approach that considers all the positives as well as the imperfections, challenges and opportunities for improvement. He views his role as one of consulting with his clients to help them make informed decisions rather than passing judgement on a property.
Adam is an ASHI Certified Home Inspector with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama. Adam lives in Sandy Springs with his wife and two children. In his free time, Adam loves fly fishing, being outdoors and spending time with friends and family.
Jack is an ASHI Certified Home Inspector with broad experience in home construction. As the son of a furniture carpenter and homebuilder, Jack has been immersed in construction for most of his life. Shortly after graduating from Georgia College and State University, he began his career in the homebuilding industry, going to work for a reputable building company in the North Atlanta area. Jack has held the titles of Finishing Manager, Product Quality Control Inspector, Customer Service Representative and Land Acquisition and Development Assistant during his professional career, exposing him to many aspects of the building process. When Jack is not inspecting homes or continuing his education in construction, he can be found on Lake Hartwell with a fishing rod in hand.
Mike Reid is an ASHI Certified Home Inspector with years of construction and inspection experience. He graduated from Kennesaw State University, and also served four years in the United States Navy. Mike worked as a builder and quality control manager for KB Homes from 2005-2009, and thus has excellent knowledge of new construction. Mike and his wife Grace enjoy traveling to their vacation home in The Philippines where they hope to one day retire. Mike also enjoys mountain biking and kayaking, and was once an alternate for the US Olympic kayaking team.
Andy is an InterNACHI and ASHI Certified Home Inspector and licensed real estate agent. Having more than seven years of on-the-job experience in the residential home industry, he understands the step-by-step process and importance of a thorough home inspection. Customer service is always a top priority for Andy. He has developed this skill by working in the past directly with retail customers as well as professional contractors when he was an apprentice electrician for a number of years. He continues to advance his professional skills by completing coursework and qualifying for additional home inspection specializations. Recently he and his wife completed their personal home remodel which included extensive interior demolition including a change of floor plan. His supervision of the project as a home inspector focused on each and every detail of the process resulting in an exceptional finished product. In his spare time, Andy enjoys spending family time with his wife and daughter, watching Atlanta Braves baseball, UGA football, and listening to informative podcasts.
Erik is an ASHI Certified Inspector who also holds a Certified Residential Indoor Environmentalist certification (CRIE) for mold and air quality analysis. He also holds a certification from the Exterior Design Institute, EDI# GA-102 for EIFS stucco inspections, moisture intrusion analysis, and quality control. He was raised in the metro Atlanta area with short stays in Nashville, Savannah, and Austin. Erik currently lives in Marietta, Georgia with his wife Laura and two daughters. When not performing inspections, Erik enjoys traveling, spending time at the lake, and being outdoors.
Charlie is an ASHI Certified Home Inspector with professional real estate and remodeling experience. He was born and raised in Georgia and attended Georgia College and State University. Charlie's attention to detail and friendly personality make him a valuable member of our team. While he is professional and meticulous, he is willing to get dirty in the process. Charlie joined our team to pursue his passion for construction after leaving the finance industry in 2020. He now lives in his hometown of Decatur with his family, where he enjoys hiking with his dog, fishing, and boxing.
Patrick is an ASHI Certified Home Inspector as well as a licensed Realtor in the state of Georgia with over a decade of experience in the real estate industry. Originally from the Midwest, Patrick has lived in Atlanta since 2001 and received a Business Degree from Georgia State University in 2010. Delivering quality service and communication that exceeds client expectations is of the utmost importance for Patrick as he has a deep understanding of all facets of a real estate purchase and/or transaction. As a top producing and award winning Realtor, Patrick enjoys bringing that same level of dedication and expertise to the client experience during the home inspection process. The peace of mind and empowerment that comes from having a thorough understanding of the condition of a property is a crucial element that Patrick has a passion for delivering. As a resident of Grant Park, Patrick enjoys “intown” living with his Partner Elana and their dogs and in his free time is a fitness enthusiast participating in functional fitness/crossfit as well as Muay Thai and Boxing.
As our Operations Manager, Adam is an integral part of our team who values providing outstanding customer service, as he recognizes that responsiveness and attention to detail are clear differentiators in our industry. He also knows that purchasing a home can be stressful and he takes pride in serving our clients and removing barriers so they can feel free to focus on the big picture. It is this level of service that brings our clients back time and again while providing Adam with a personal feeling of accomplishment. Harry works with Pelorus as an experienced Radon Measurement Technician. As a former project manager for the premier firm of Pinkerton and Laws, he has expertise overseeing high dollar projects. He possesses the level of attention to detail needed to provide accurate Radon measurement and reporting. Harry brings a long history of successful business experience to the firm. Harry lives in Sandy Springs with his wife Sandra and he enjoys spending time with family.
Luke is a Certified Industrial Hygienist, a Certified Hazardous Material Manager, a Certified Safety Professional, a Certified Indoor Environment Consultant and an Environmental Chemist. He currently sits on the national board of Indoor Air Quality Association, and the local board of Alliance for Hazardous Material Managers. Additionally, he is a certified mold, asbestos, and lead based paint inspector and a senior environmental chemist. He is a Project Manager with over 10 years as a contractor for the US EPA under the Superfund programs
Marks has been providing quality pest control services in the area for over 25 years. In 2007 Marks started "Marksmen Exterminators II, Inc" to deliver high quality, honest and thorough pest control services to Atlanta and the surrounding area. Since that time he and his team have developed a reputation for the highest levels of customer service and attention to detail. As he likes to say, Marks and his team "Always Hit the Bugs Eye on Service!" Marks has two children and he lives with his wife Karen in Cumming Georgia. In his free time, Marks enjoys a round of golf or fishing in the Gulf of Mexico when time allows.
